As with every litter, there are always challenges. My challenge with this litter, since they are all boys and 4 are red is keeping them differentiated at this early age. So, the first step is a facial close up! Here is the first red boy with that beautiful eye mask and wider white strip right down his muzzle.

We got out the little rug and got full body shots. They all squiggled right around looking for the nipple..that is such a strong instinct! The picture that follows the head shot, is that puppy.

Once their personalities develop more and more, it is a snap to tell them apart, but that takes a few weeks. Here is the darker red boy that came out second. He looks the most like Kaho, at this age with the deeper red color and mask across the bridge of his nose.

It takes about 5-10 shots to get 1 right. Patience is the key, not only with photography, but especially with training. Both those have some things in common. Do them in short spurts with lots of trials.

Now this little guy is a snap. When he was wet, it was a little difficult to tell if he would be dilute black or gray, but once he dried, it was obvious he was a gray boy. Both his parents have that nice white marking between their ears.

All are getting handled by me daily now and getting used to being picked up. Kayta is also getting used to them coming and going for short, short periods.

Red boy four is close to red boy five, but his face is slightly different. He has a little dark marking on the bridge of his muzzle that attaches to the markings around his eyes.

Scooting in the whelping box is commonplace at only 2 days old. Mom gets in and sits or lays down and every single one hones right in on her and crawls right over. They come to her, she does not go to them.

The last little red guy has the open muzzle just like the gray boy and the first red boy. No doubt, I love science, genetics and Siberians. They always have the unusual and unexpected for all of us!
